This e-learning focuses on blood gases and transcutaneous monitoring (TCM) in the NICU and PICU. Preterm neonates are vulnerable to changes in blood gases. TCM provides added value, as it allows for continuous, non-invasive monitoring of tcpO2 and tcpCO2.

Careful evaluation of the practical aspects of TCM is important, so potential adverse effects can be avoided and readings are correct. This e-learning demonstrates how TCM is a valuable part of a personalised monitoring approach in unstable children and children requiring respiratory support.
